Who we are and what this policy covers
Design Time is an editorial site that publishes articles about interiors and design. This policy explains what information reaches our WordPress installation, how we use it, and your choices when you read, comment on, or contact the site.

- Server and CDN logs: Our hosting and caching/CDN layers automatically record technical logs for each request, including your IP address, the time of the request, the URL requested, referrer (if supplied by your browser), and your browser user agent. These logs are standard for operating a website.
How we use this information
– To publish and moderate comments. We review comments to keep discussion on topic and to reduce spam. Registration is closed and there are no public user profiles on the site.
– To deliver the site reliably and securely. Server and CDN logs help us run the network, diagnose issues, measure uptime, and respond to abuse.
– To respond to you. If you email us, we use your message to reply and to follow up on the matter you raised.
Cookies and local storage
Design Time does not run advertising, affiliate tracking, or analytics scripts. WordPress and your browser may still set small pieces of data to make features work:
- Commenter convenience cookies: If you choose to save your name, email, and website when leaving a comment, WordPress stores that information in cookies so you do not have to retype it next time. These typically last up to one year on your device and you can clear them in your browser.
- Admin/session cookies: WordPress sets session cookies for the site’s administrator when logged in. These are not set for general readers.
- CDN caching: Our caching/CDN service stores temporary copies of pages and media to speed delivery. This cache does not contain your private communications.
What we do not do
– We do not sell your personal information.
– We do not run display ads or affiliate programs on this site.
– We do not operate a newsletter and we do not collect sign-ups.
– We do not use third-party analytics platforms on the site.
Who can see your information
– Public: If your comment is approved, the comment text and the name you provided are published. Your email address and IP address are never displayed.
– Site administration: The site’s administrator can view comment metadata needed for moderation and can access server logs.
– Service providers: Our hosting and caching/CDN providers process technical logs and cached content to operate the site. Our email provider processes emails you send to us. These providers act as processors for us and do not use your data for their own marketing.
Retention and location
– Comments: Published comments and their moderation metadata are kept unless we remove them as part of housekeeping or you ask us to delete them. Pending or spam comments may be cleared on a rolling basis.
– Emails: Correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle your request and maintain records of our editorial operations.
– Logs and caches: Hosting and CDN logs and cached copies are kept for the period needed to ensure security and site reliability. Caches expire automatically; logs rotate according to operational needs.
Because we use a global CDN and standard email routing, your information may be processed on servers located outside your state or country.
Your choices and rights
You can always read the site without identifying yourself. If you have left a comment or emailed us, you can ask us to:
- Provide a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Correct information you believe is inaccurate.
- Delete your personal information, including removing your comments from public view.
- Limit or object to our processing where applicable by law.
Children’s privacy
Design Time is intended for a general audience interested in design and interiors. It is not directed to children. If you believe we have collected personal information from a child, contact us and we will delete it.
